Well, you caught me. I was trying to pull one over on you, but you’re too smart for such shenanigans.
Yes, in Monday’s This Week in Literary History email, I listed Kurt Vonnegut as being born in 1992. Many of you emailed to say that probably wasn’t right. It would have been difficult for Vonnegut to witness Dresden, Germany’s firebombing, during World War II if he had been born 47 years after the war ended in Europe.
Alas, Kurt Vonnegut was born on Nov. 11, 1922.
I apologize for the error. And I appreciate those of you who emailed. It’s always nice to hear from you, especially when you’re helping keep what we publish in the Hollow honest and accurate.
