Joy Harjo returns as Poet Laureate and new books coming your way
Hi Reader,
Welcome to May!
Joy Harjo’s returning for another term as U.S. Poet Laureate. According to The New York Times, one of the things she’s focusing on is “a project called ‘Living Nations, Living Words: A Map of First Peoples Poetry,’ a digital interactive map featuring contemporary Native poets, including videos of them reading their work.”
That project sounds fascinating to this lover of maps and poetry. I’ll let you know if I get any updates on it. In the meantime, on to this week’s book lists.
Thanks for reading,
Nick
