Hi Reader,
This week the American Library Association (ALA) released its annual list of the most-banned or challenged books in schools and libraries. Many of the list’s books feature LGBTQ+ characters and content. And according to the ALA, attempts to censor reading materials increased 14 percent from 2018. 😞 Here are the ten most challenged books of 2019.
But let’s not end the week on a down note. Look, literary puns!
Did you know Charlotte Brontë made it easier to breathe?
Yeah, she created fresh Eyre.
What did Charles Dickens keep in his pantry?
The best of thyme, the worst of thyme.
Never read F. Scott Fitzgerald?
You’ve Gatsby kidding me.
Happy Friday,
Nick
